Get Ready...
The concept is simple: there are people in your neighborhood who receive hundreds of unwanted catalogs each year. Your job is to get those people to tear off or take a photo of the back page of that catalog and give it to you. Then, you go online and unsubscribe that person from that catalog.
Get Set...
Edit the flyer template and attach it to the front of a large envelope. and drop it off with the people who work at your school office. Ask them to tear off the catalog backs and put them in the envelope. You can also put up an envelope in your local post office and give them to local businesses.
Go!
Empty it once a week and get started with unsubscribing!
Ready For More?
If you hand out too many envelopes it becomes a chore to check them all so … go contactless and do it all over email! This was a good option during Covid, because school was closed and we were all stuck inside. It's also good for now because it's so easy to do it from home! Grab a friend with a lap top and do it together.
Step One:
Find a teacher, administrator or parent who can help you. Give them the For the Adult Advisor letter linked here.
Step Two:
Set-up a dedicated email address (instructions here)
Step Three:
Make a QR code (instructions here)
Step Four:
Start publicizing your ‘unsubscribe services’ (samples in the marketing folder)
Step Five:
Set aside some time each week to check folders and inbox and process unsubscribes. Too many? Get a friend to help!
